NEW: Doug Burgum Is Raiding America’s National Parks to Fund Trump’s White House Makeover
New Atlantic Investigation Confirms $854 Million Seized From Parks Nationwide For Trump Vanity Projects
HELENA, MT – A new bombshell investigation confirms that the Trump administration has seized $854 million from national parks outside Washington, D.C. to support spending on Trump vanity projects at the White House and around the city. The investigation finds that spending on projects in the nation’s capital has increased by 92 percent over the previous year. Under Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, more than nine hundred projects at America’s national parks, including things like guardrail replacements and roof repairs, have lost funding to pay for Donald Trump’s interior decorating.
“Doug Burgum’s job is to protect and preserve America’s national parks. But instead of doing that, he’s spent the last year and a half raiding park fees, slashing budgets, and cutting the workforce down to the bone to bankroll Trump’s White House makeover,” said Jayson O’Neill, Save Our Parks spokesperson. “Under Burgum’s ‘leadership,’ our parks and public lands have become just another pot of money for the President’s wish fulfillment. American families visiting their favorite parks this summer will find them understaffed and in disrepair. Meanwhile, Trump gets $700,000 for Italian granite walkways on the taxpayer’s dime. How many more projects are going unfunded so Burgum can help his boss play interior decorator?”
